Big Watch

Buddy Boon Hui recently bought a dive computer - Alladin Prime. I've requested for him to bring it to work for me to play with. Hehe... With the dive computer on my desk, I've been getting questions by fellow colleagues who walked pass me, "Why is your watch so big?!"

Alladin Prime as compare to my tiny little watch

My baby Suzianti has yet to say a word about the "big watch". Feeling her stress from workloads put upon her today, I decided to relax her a bit and crack in some humour. With the dive computer on my wrist, I walked over to her desk and ask her a few work related questions. She was soooooooo serious into work that she did not notice the "big watch" on me. After a fewwwwwwww (not one) pointing here and there right under her nose, she finally noticed the dive computer and laughed.

I thought I've cracked in a humour, until she said...

"Apa kan ni? Is that a belt?"

BAG Bowling Challenge Trophy

Sunday 19th August 2007, BAGs of Fun again organised an event at the Empire Country Club for bowling - it is The BAG Challenge Trophy game. I was going to write a post on it, then I realised that Azz, our ex-intern who is now working part time for Borneo Bulletin has already wrote a beautiful article for the event. So... here is his article on Borneo Bulletin today.

BSC & HSG Installation Dinner

Last Saturday on 18th August 2007, some of my colleagues and I attended the Brunei Speakers' Club and HSBC Speakers' Group installation dinner.

I still remember vividly two years ago when I was installed as the Vice President Membership for BSC by HRH Prince Azim. I was also the Table Topics Master on that night, giving topics for impromptu speeches. It was a lot of fun and lots of fond memories to bring back with.

Sue, Ping, Intan and myself were there to support Reuben who was one of the emcees that night. We sat on the same table with his sisters who mentioned that they are very proud of him. Reuben, we are very proud of you too. Well done and I hope to see you install as the President of the club one day...

Land beneath the wind

9th till 12th August 2007

Eric, Ai Thin, Chris, Lee Ming & myself decided to head off to Limbang overnight and then spend the rest of our long weekend in KK - the land beneath the wind.

We stayed overnight at Limbang's Prime Hotel to avoid the traffic at Kuala Lurah border the following day. Simon, the owner of the hotel, who is also our dive buddy generously took us for a delicious PRAWNS dinner! We had 4 dishes of prawns cooked in different style. After dinner, Simon took us for karaoke at Tokyo Lounge (ermm.. dont expect too much out from the name) and Albert, another diver from Limbang sang beautifully...!

In KK, we had a F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C time. Besides the yummy food, shop-till-our-wallet-KOYAK-spree, party-till-our-eyes-cannot-open, we had 3 good dives with Scuba Paradise Borneo.

Dive 1 - Agill Reef
The maximum depth is about 20m. We spent a good 60 minutes bottom time, although we could actually stayed longer as our SPGs read 150 bar still. The visibility, however was not that great. Probably about 5m or 8m max. There are the usual suspects: cardinals, damsels, nudis, puffers, parrots, and gobies! We also spotted a couple of pipefish.

Dive 2 - Sapi Reef
The maximum depth is also about 20m. We spent only about 45minutes this time underwater. We were quite disappointed with the short bottom time but nonetheless, we managed to get some good shots to add into our collections. For this dive, besides the usual, we spotted flounder, wasp fish, juvenille crocodile fish, blue spotted stingray, nudis, orange goby and not forgetting Tatssy's favourite lizard fish! Heehee...

Dive 3 - Clement Reef
Why is this dive site called Clement Reef? Well, obviously it was named after Clement who found the reef. Heehee.. Maximum depth for this dive is about 15m. Our bottom time is about 45 minutes. We spotted the usuals and a cuttlefish. The highlight for this last dive has to be the humongous yellow nudi which looks like a lady bug.

Here are some of my favourite shots from KK dives.

After the dives, we head over to Shenanigans and then to Cocoon, where we made new friends from KK - E Tian, Emily and Angela. Are they available? Hmm.. Not too sure, need to find out from our dear friend Chris the Sor G Ggg... Mui mui mui mui mui....!

Oscar Boy...

Bro: Hey, we (referring to my bro and his wife) bought something really cute that look just like you.
Me: (feeling a little bit kambang) Really??? What? Hot
Bro: A puppy.
Me: Huh? Sarcastic What kind?
Bro: A poodle.
Me: HELLIIIIOOOOOOO???? Do I look like a poodle to you?Angry

Oscar

Feeling merajuk, I complained to my sis-in-law, to seek some comfort and hopefully, with the "evil" intention of her helpping me to get my brother back. Sigh... silly silly me... being such a supportive wife, of course she is always by his side. Ended up...

Me: Yee Sou (2nd sis-in-law), gor-gor bully me!Crying
Yee Sou: Har? What did he do again this time? (See???)
Me: He said I look like your poodle!!!! Hmmmpphhhh
Yee Sou: Hahaha.. eh.. this is a compliment okie? He is so cuteeeeeeeeeee.
Me: .... Disappointed*speechless*

To me, they are the sweetest couple (besides my mom and dad of course) that I've seen so far. My sis-in-law recently shared her yahoo album with me and I just went... AWwwwww... looking at the pictures. My favourite is the one below.

I can't believe that I am saying this. But, yes I do think that my brother is... if not the greatest, then one of the greatest husband. Of course, my sis-in-law is a great wife too.

With Oscar on board our Ohana, my sis-in-law has already started creating an album for him.

She labelled the pictures as - Oscar in Air Force, Oscar in Space, Oscar Dollar, Oscar in the News (although he appeared "Guilty" in the picture).

Last but not least, I can't believe Oscar is also running for President!

Colour blindness vs water dispenser

Today at work, my colleagues and I were talking about colour blindness right after lunch break at the pantry.

Me: Eh, Raf, you got colour blindness kah?
Raf: Yes, unfortunately.
B: Yeah.. he has. You didn't know kah?
Me: No I don't. How bad is it?
Raf: Very bad...!
B: (while filling in his water bottle using the water dispenser) Okie, tell me. How can you tell a difference between "Hot" water (in red) and "Cold" water (in blue) tap. (pointing at the dispenser)
Raf: Well.. first of all, I can read. H-O-T for hot water and C-O-L-D for cold water.
B: Puzzled. Look at the water dispenser, face turned red. Embarassed! And said "Okie, everyone let's get back to work!"
